Dreams and Hopes - In youth I had dreams of tomorrow, In age I have hopes of today, Because my dreams have all turned into sorrow, By plague, they are driven away Away, away, I’ve tried to fly, And still, one day, I might, But the only time I’ve ever flown Is here, beneath my kite Alas, alas, I still won’t pass, I’ve attempted to sing and to dance, But never been touched, or loved, Or engaged by whirlwind romance In youth, I had dreams of tomorrow, In age, I have nightmares of today, Bitter and cold, Boring and old, In sorrow, forever I’ll stay |
