(the coat...and I!) Bet ya’ didn’t know.... that my ‘ol coat was once the ‘official property’ of the 8th Army Air Force and so was the hero who wore it... back in them ‘proud ol days’ of our last ‘end all wars’ war! (that Second World ‘rerun’)... Nowadays, we just have occasional ‘police’ actions to die in...and its all so ‘nice’ to be freed from each ‘ism’ just so we can devote more time to all the rest! Ah well......... One day, ya’ see... that old coat just sorta’ picked me outa’ the crowd in a tumble-down ‘second-hand’ store and we’ve been ‘buddies’ ever since!... But, that was....oh so many years ago now... and we’ve shared a lot of life since then both ‘fair’ and ‘foul’... been a few places, met a few ‘friends’, and made a little love!..... I believe it was while we were rollin’ down another midnight highway that I came to realize just how much my sad, ‘ol coat was like our lives, loves, and ‘friendships’... without intent to careful care... they slowly....’fray-away’!....... |

Quicker than the eye and much like the magician's cloak, you plant the seed of consciousness...beneath it's shadows. Attending to the threads of the human soul begins with one quiet voice stating a universal truth. |

Bruce~ I enjoyed this render~ My 'eye' caught this - 'I believe it was while we were rollin’ down another midnight highway' Those words are keys to new poem-in-the-making-thought~ Drive it ! *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Yep...loved this conversational style and understand about love of coats...I wrote a poem about my trenchcoat from years and years ago. Army surplus stores sure hold alot of the past. |
