            Fire and Moonlight

I have been one...
far too well acquainted with the night
of  passing ‘mumblers’ bent on vile intent...
and sorry misted-rains...as Nature cries
in discontent...in disbelief...of all the ills
that men have spun...without repent
from all that was truly heaven-sent!

and I have born their scorn in silent solitude...
or dropped my eyes...unwilling to explain
a poet’s sad lament...resolved refrain
about a far, far ‘different way’...
where Nature and the innocent...don’t pay
for the ‘far-to-easy’ crimes of men!

As time for me...
was never ‘wrong nor right’...
for all exists...in infinite simultaneity
wrapped in Nature’s eternal deity...
Though I am no longer certain...
were all I’ve been
at least...I have not shared...
in those sins of men!

So I raise my humble prayer...
above the cosmic din,
beyond what is...and was...
and ‘might have been’
that she will find...
some ‘second sight’ to see
the solitary beauty-truths
I paint for her alone...
etched in finest feather-frost
of truest love...
that burns like fire and moonlight!...

As I have come to care
for her...and Nature’s 'all'...
in balanced measure...
be this my dream...my quest...
my curse...or my grandest treasure!

Big hearts, like a bullseye, seem to draw the arrows of the multitudes...but within the growing pains that render such depth of feeling; lay the secret spell of strength.

I found this to be a favorite from your vivid quill, Poet.

Excellent write, but who knows the history of the grime that made thee. Perhaps you are a change for the better.

My most grand and gracious thanks to each and all of you who have commented on this (or any of the other) humble 'writes' I've placed on this wonderful website!

I've tried to answer you individually via 'e-mail'; however, in case I inadvertently missed anyone....thank you so much!

P.S.:  PLEASE suggest 'changes and improvements'... I have no 'official' (formal) training as a 'poet-wordsmith'!!
