Barren, save a leaf or two she stands ~naked~ chilled to the core, and more yet for a leaf or two caught, hanging on for salvation's sake. Rake away! Rake away! for I shall store up my energies, begin anew if I have to whist shivering in bare arms that wave Praise be! Praise be! to warmth and sunshine! as I sip a new refreshing dew of tendered smiles 'cross miles of autumn gold. Behold, I will yet know Spring! |

Wow!: “...sip(ping) new refreshing dew of tender... smiles 'cross miles of autumn gold” now that’s ‘grand imagery’! I was “rak(in’) away” just this mornin'.... and most assuredly Spring-dreamin’! |

Kacy, this is such a beautiful poem. I know the raking of leaves is hard work, but the colors are so pretty not long before they start falling. Hugs, Ethel |
