People take for granted what a smoke filled room can do for a persons psyche oh god to be embraced in it and laced with it every vein with nicotine racing through it your hands down my pants could never do this to me if only for one more puff one more plunge through cancer treated air and I would burst into a million pieces Oh god to feel this cyanide waiting to collide with my insides quiver and shake I may just melt but no no I'll never light another match again and feel it singe my lips feel the paper burning no I've got to stay clean but...tell me who needs soap when dirt feels so good |

This is great. Up to the top it goes! Well, exhale, just keep exhaling and you'll be alright. I guess we all need "the dirt" of some kind or other in order to know the "clean". |

Great poem, Exhale--but I wish you wouldn't encorage me to carry on smoking! Cheers, Bill (a forty-a-day man) |

THIS I so understand and you wrote it so well. Plus, the title and your name are perfect -- I still yearn for that cigarette. I will always be a smoker I am simply a smoker who chooses not to smoke. But, damn, I read your poem and I tasted it, felt it, and heard the sizzle of the match. aziza |

You wrote of the addiction very well, little one. This is one vice I've never even tried, and later, watched it take my loved ones...but I oh, so understand that crave that carved their needs. |
