          Lines at Twilight

The last vestiges of light
gleam from the teeth of evening
and dance upon half-hidden pages....
dimming now...to the distant strains
of  Mr. Eliot’s ‘Rhapsody on a Windy night’....
as sunbeams, spinning in corners,
conjure dream-images to the lonely mind....
(pausing only to tease the hosts of shadows
marshaled for this occasion by the night)....
You return once more...in fantasy....
changed a bit perhaps....
by the prisms of distance and memory....
Yet, for that fleeting moment,
you seem so very near....
and I remember....how I miss you!

You painted this one perfectly...
had a heartbeat all it's own.

Bruce~

"She much preferred the sunrise,
and when I asked her why ....
on a smile born of youthful wisdom
came her soft reply ..."
(Just a memory that came to play as I read)

There is a perfected pause at twi-of-night
that calls all the memories home ...
This one is immersed in my *sighs* of remember~

Yes, she will always return from somewhere in time at twilight.
My my, how beautiful this is!

*soft smiles*

No spring, nor summer beauty
hath such grace...
As I have seen in one autumnal face.
