the smallness of philanthropy

it came into sight, as an electronic jerk
or was it reminding me
that i am the work?

this is who you are

one of those ascribed to me as an
i will be your future in
reading time, yet with some chiding, foretelling
and then foretold well after the fact
of some thing in giving my all in these days
that would become intrinsic
to who i am.

it is lovely to be small.  the difference
of smallness v. greatness is a
samson/delilah moment, or better yet,
a david in the lion’s den movement
where an action that could have been
ignored                                   lived on

for us.

leaning richly toward history, fables, fabrications
and such, still and all, i admire those in true form
of gifting, the gates that open;
the buffets that feed;
and those waltons lacking mountains
that did not tell stories,
but gave lives a branch to living…

these are the differences, in compassion
and ability,
poor are those who give
in time, tales, experience, but rich, rich
are they in word…and sharing.

the smallness of philanthropy,
for when it comes into
reality
it becomes
you.

I never thought of philantropy in this manner before.   I think you are right!  It may be one of smallest, but greatest gift.  (I like this a lot!)
Great to be here for a few and catch some of those thoughts and words.  Thank you,Sunshine!

A deep and thoughtful poem, Karilea.

"the smallness of philanthropy,
for when it comes into
reality
it becomes
you."

Yes, so very well said!

"Its lovely to be small" !......
luckily for all of us, this 'poetic Voice' of sunshine from 'Sunshine'....is not!

self-efacing philanthropy....'smallness' at its grandest!

Don't know if I have the 'courage' to take on some of the topics she does!
