Sometimes A Sigh
~*Marge Tindal*~

Sometimes a sigh
exhaled in joy
reaches across the bay
finds love waiting on the other side
wanting the sigh to say
'I am shared with you'

Sometimes a sigh
of sorrow's partake
ripples the waters across the lake
calling for your hand in prayer
'a sigh of gentle share'

Sometimes a sigh
of sad goodbye
drifts across the ebon night
wafting on the breeze
of whispering winds
calling back to a friend
'return when you might'

Sometimes a sigh
was spent in vain
from the friend who shed tears
but could not share the pain
These are the sighs I listen for most
'for when your tears fall ... I want you to realize
I am as close as your next shared sigh'

~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~

Such a lovely sigh you pen dear Marge.
Sending loving hugs your way.

sighs.... wafting.....on wisperin' winds through an ebony night.....callin' back friends.....
that imagery is 'as good as it gets'....in my opinion! [sets a grand 'poetic horizon' to seek in this humble "wordsmith's" journey-quest!]

Your last verse is somewhat like one of my last verses to a poem I once wrote to a friend:

"But until I see some small sign from you,
That I am wanted,
I stand timidly by your side.
I can not read so well,
That I can meet your needs.
Help me please
So I won't walk away.
Without you ever knowing..
I was there."

The importance of remembering
who you can call on
especially when miles distance smiles
is extremely important
and needed, even in today's age
of instant communication via computers.

It is not the same,
when we need to hear
the intake of breath,
the hold of thought,
and the give of release...

in a sigh.

Well done, Marge.

I so appreciate the kind replies to this little heart-pour~

When they flow ... effortlessly, as this one did ... they are meant to reside in the hearts of many~
I am glad this one does~

Thank you all~

Hi, Marge!

My favorite part:

"Sometimes a sigh
was spent in vain
from the friend who shed tears
but could not share the pain"

*sigh*  That's beautiful!

Thank you, John~

In the sharing of tears ... the sorrow is diluted~

I hold friends in tender regard ...
wanting to share the joy and their pain~
