Springtime In The Valley A spring time drive in the valley In wine tasting we partake As black swans glide gracefully At the vineyard by the lake Row upon row of gnarled wood Grapes hung from the vine Huge green and purple bunches Soon to be bottles of wine Down the steps into the cellars With wooden casks stored We are offered samples of wine Sweet and dry was poured Having our tastebuds tantalised With the best food and wine In the lakeside garden resturant We relaxed in the sunshine Hope ©2006 Link the the poem with corresponding graphics below http://www.thestarlitecafe.com/poems/102/poem_8373873.html |

~ I really liked the rhyming scheme... smooth and melodic. Also, this reminded me of Spring, which would be nice right about now living here in Pittsburgh. One more thing, your words reminded me of that Oscar worthy movie in 2005 about wine making - Sideways. Enjoyed! |

Such a lovely tribute to a memory that you obviously cherish. It is a fun poem to read and you transported me to wine country. I had never been before. Thank you. A |
