The Mind

Minds are born a ferment of grime
Cooked in fire a moment of time
Spiced illusion enough for taste
Nothing is ever left to waste

Horizons are walls of your room
The stars are the straws of your broom
The sun adds the power of tricks
And your mind the core of the mix

You may stay or you may withdraw
But minds are born of grime once more
And time will cook the ferments grill
Weather or not you stay the bill

I cannot tell you why or when
Nor can I point out now or then
I cannot take your hand and sigh
O’er horizons I cannot fly

It’s up to you to fill the bill
As you can see I’m here yet still

Some minds are grime from ferment fruit
Fried from hop and home grown "root"
I think my mind can't fill the bill
(Too many trips to a moonshine still).

Psai, I hope things are going great for you, I hope you're staying in touch with Balladeer and visiting him frequently at that assisted living home he's in as I'm sure he's quite lonely. Yall take care now ya hear?....

LOL@Toerag! He's too much.
Love to wake up and read you each morning dear Sy!
Have a grand day!

No spring, nor summer beauty
hath such grace...
As I have seen in one autumnal face.

I cannot take your hand and sigh

What do you mean you "cannot"?
I believe that you can and do with each and every poem that you gift us with.
hugs, Chris

Not too many minds as grimy as Toe's.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Does that apply to the high minded, those who have half-a-mind and those whose minds are in the gutter, too?

Enjoyed this.

I'm minded to think this is up to your usual superb standard.
Cheers

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Toerag
You are really a wick sharpened to a wit, for you dip into ink more than you think.
But I do enjoy your baiting the bear
That growls so loud at the sight of the snare. I am well thank you.

Nancy
Thank you my sweet.

serenity
Don't have any sugar, but i'll send you some bees to get you some honey.

Chris
What would I do without your honey.

Interloper
Toe's mind is not grimy Perhaps a little to hammy.

sandgrain
It applies to all the afore mentioned.
Thanks for the read and reply

Kethry
I'll be on cloud nine for the next few days.
Thank you.
