The Glass Ballerina

YOU were suppose to be my friend
But it didn't work out that way
You were a wounded animal
And I should of known you'd betray

I never knew you with this face
But then your life was a drama
I should of known after a time
I would not take audience

You reminded me of poetry
A never ending tragedy
Would irony befit yourself
When you knew the outcome of it

I guess there's still a part of me
That wishes you the happiness
That all mankind strives to achieve
But I know you will never have it.

I know.  They seek shelter and acceptance and would do anything to get it.
