Yours I went to sleep last night to forget these are not my memories not the ones I dreamed I slept in the soft shirt you left to me but no- not for me you left- not for me just like the scent that lingers about the room the assuming touch of tears and jasmine- yours. But not mine An accident, woven into the loose fabric under my fingers unplanned, maybe unreal if I open the window, let the traces disappear I wear your absence like a shirt I dreamt you left last night these are not my memories My senses can only feel that yours are not here my closed window is the expulsion of nighttime fragrance and the still air becomes the dryness of my eyes Threads tighten, this fabric feels like chains these are not my memories the air whispers to me as it trickles in your scent is gone my chains are gone But this, this is not my guilt these are not my tears They were once- yours but I am not yours anymore |

This even feels like a dream the easy flow of repetition... the constant reminder of something not real... well done, Lauren. Thank you! |
