Dear Lady

My goodbyes
nonchalantly
are masked to keep
A calmer me
tears shed in lattes
leave nothing
your nights will walk
in my absence
but I understand.
I understand.
speak nothing of worry
tell your children
angels will guide them
till you and I meet again
years ago
another place
my hand held yours in sorrow
we lived
sisterly
in whites chiffon dresses
coming out for the world
to see
sadness will creep
beneath your braided hair
and I will always
understand
I understand

Oh, I like this one.  It felt quiet and warm. The repetition worked well.
