On Unfamiliar Wings As my body lifts, I know, my hear is not with it. Fighting and clawing , it will not be subdued. So I let it continue knowing despite its protests choices are scarce. I will close my eyes to a familiar sunset but will awaken to a sunrise I have never seen. Firey, golden, and closer it pushes. Or maybe I to it. It is hard to tell at this sleeping moment Maybve it comes not closer but grows boldly and ferociously. I will not let it intimidate Maybe it has it's own purpose or sense. It understands its place and knows it existence. Thought and breath, less stranger than I. I let these biological curtains fall..let comes loosely off my tongue. No more say have I than in the passage of time, the strength or direction of the wind, or in the beauty of the stars above and below me. When the curtain is raised again, this time; not only will the heavens be different but the earth too, will be different Not anymore perfect or imperfect than it was. Only simpler. And that is perfect with me because everyone could use some simplicity. |
