Foibles

Foibles of humanity
Carpet mans insanity
From the valleys of inane
To the mountains of insane

Children playing ego games
Throwing logs upon the flames
Chasing through the fog and mist
Tossing flowers at exist

Dreaming dreams of evermore
Boring holes within the core
Bouncing echoes of a thought
Empty hands with nothing caught

Tears that flow with salty brine
Hearts with symbols mark the shrine
Crying in an empty waste
Bitter is the empty taste

Illusive is the true of goal
Each day the dew that wets my soul

Oh! those bonfires of the heart,
aspiring flames, a child's art
innocent in expectancy,
visions young we wished to see ~

That dance of light makes radiant room
where petals soft be not consumed
or trapped in time's rusty looms,
the promise of those velvet blooms.
