Light of Amber Dawn
30 October 2006

Sweet is the light of an Amber dawn,
the sunlight, a rising sun, to the star of David.
This kingdom to crown, the prisoner of a soul
to look deep into your eyes and discover truth

A navy battle, this river of the wind,
those horses, and this gathering upon a Snowy River.
Just to rock, just to know there was hope,
a daughter to be an angel, from this celestial land.

Another starlight, a new day a brewing,
that fermenting of oats and rye.
Such tallness, this figurine of an archer,
the target your lion, a mane cotton of thread.

That rhythm on your face,
a moist tear from your eye.
This beauty, the happiness God gave,
this light of an amber dawn and all made

In modern times, the Star of David (called the Shield of David in Hebrew, pronounced 'Magen David') has become a premier Jewish symbol. This six-pointed star (hexagram), made of two interlocking triangles. The six points symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions: north, south, east, west, up and down.

Through the Jewish people's long and often difficult history, comes the realization that hope is to place our trust in God. Where the Star of David is also a sad symbol of the Holocaust, when the Nazi Germany (referring to Germany in the years 1933 to 1945, when it was governed by the Nazi Party with Adolf Hitler as chancellor and, from 1934, head of state) .in forcing Jew people to wear an identifying yellow star (during this period of history in relation to genocide and World War Two, 1939-1945).

Jewish people were also forced to wear special badges during the Middle Ages, both by Muslim and Christian authorities, and even in Israel under the Ottoman Empire.

The Star of David serves as a reminder for the Jewish people . . . in God the Almighty, we trust.
