i can't stop hiding

I saw you sitting there so long ago
I wasn’t with you in this place
But the connection through you eyes
Had me focused in on your embrace

I longed so much to be around
To be the books sitting in your lap
And the distance that was there
Could only be represented on a map

For the warmth that held me every night
It was never there just because
And the thoughts that comforted my dreams
Had me thinking only like yours does

Now shining through me in my life
I’m comforted by your arms holding me there
No matter how hard I try to explain
None of my words could begin to compare

To the overwhelming feeling of grotesque paranoia
Inside every action I take, every word I speak
And no matter have happy I make you
It just seems that my actions where to bleak

Until I here those words that set me free
That proves that every thought is true
You put you inside your embrace
Look deep into my eyes and say “I love you”
