In all honesty...
and I believe in being true,
not only to you
but to myself too
...

there's nothing left,
the river's run dry,
the well's been tapped,
geese took to fly...
the end of the road,
the fire burned out,
the jury's in,
no reasonable doubt...
the numb works as well
as the winter is cold,
the end of the rainbow
with no pot of gold.

You are not a hero,
I no longer have love
to let you have sole
complete control of.

It's nothing you did
or didn't do,
feelings change
and I did too.

You always want what you can't have,
you're not happy with just being friends,
in all honesty...yes it's sad
that this is the way the story ends.

Yes. Dixie.  Sad it is.  (think I'm keeping this one to help me remember that we all change and grow, grow to and away from ones we love...)  You don't know how often you have expressed what has been hiding in the back of my head at some time or another in my life.  Your poetry always has great meaning to me.  Thank you for expressing these feelings so poetically.

"It's nothing you did
or didn't do,
feelings change
and I did too"

too many things said,
I've tried to pull through
won't stay in your mind,
i'll always stay true.

you told your story
and burried the roots,
too many stitches
for sorrow to re-coup.

release in my mind,
feelings ive always felt,
since before you held and stangled me
with your metaphorical belt.

as you can see... your poem spoke to me quite well.
it agreed with me with more than my passions to tell.
please indulge me with more of your thoughts...

Very captivating rhythm in this one, dear Dixie. And I love your truth that needed to be said.

Love and hugs.

The honesty of this write is very apparent. There is strength and wisdom in your words. You have come through your trials stronger and wiser than ever.

I believe that there will be many readers who could identify with your feelings and sentiments at one time or another in their life. I know that I can.

Loving hug,
Linda

Dear Dixie, with all honesty, I wish we could all be totally honest, but I am sure that total honesty will never be put into the written word, honesty belongs in the heart and the places that hurt often, honesty is spoken within ourselves, to our concience, our God and the devil himself. Honesty is all the pain, words that will hurt, words that will not be understood by they who made you honest to yourself. I think that saying enough without too many truths is enough.
Only my thoughts dear friend, I am not here often but seek your posts when I am. Enjoyed the read Dixie, it gave me a moment of writing thought which has not been around for a long while.
Be well and take care my friend, don't feed on regret, but on what you learn.

Sincerely
Rick

Absolutely loved the honesty in this one. It's said 'that truth shall set you free' and apparently it has.

Another victory snatched from the jaws of defeat.

Yeah Dixie, you go girl!

It takes more courage to leave a decaying situation, than it does to go with the flow of the status quo.

Congratulations on the start of your journey to a more satisfying life.

I believe that sometimes we grow because we are able to come face to face with what we honestly want...its then that the things we don't want, don't seem to fit into the picture...James
