Yodeling Down

Great-grandfather
yodels boldly down
from a high Bavarian
plateau;

that is how I see him
in my imaginings,
two worlds away.

Bavaria isn’t in
Switzerland
but it’s easier to
spell,

and he probably
did the same thing
there:

tend cows.

your poems are so concrete
dry
they give me pause
good pause

So, that's why you look somehow familiar!

A Swiss friend of mine gave me a CD with a Holy Mass completely sung in the Jodel-mode... (sounds funny). There is the Halleluja part that brings me goosebumps ... and sometimes I try to sing it ... of course only when I am alone in the car!!

Loved your imagining past Jodel performances by your Great-Grandfather!

Love,
Margherita

Ed~
What a tender render~

My grandma was a yodeler ... when she was
upset with grandpa ... she'd start to yodeling to beat the band ... no way that Grandpa couldn't get the message !!

I love the stories I hear about my ancestors... but even more... I love being left with my imaginings... *S*

And he might well have yodeled to his cows, yanno. *S*

I love this... excellent work!!
