Heaven or Hell Where Do I Belong? Look at me, so tired, so drained, The halo that once belonged to me has vanished from my head My hair doesn’t shine it just hangs in despair My face is now covered in makeup, suiting exactly what I wear. I used to be a candidate for heaven I got straight A’s, and spoke so polite back then I ate lunch with my three friends underneath an oak tree There we would sit until the bell would ring and we were no longer free That’s all changed now my mum’s got sick My grades are at an all time low, the teachers tell me I can’t stay unless they are fixed I answer back every time I am spoken to, and I’ve broken every uniform rule in the book And now I seem to be in the middle of all the fights and the cool kid's in which i longed to be, just stop and look? Everyone’s asks me why I have changed, I just tell them that it’s not my fault, I’m deranged For an English assignment we must write a poem This I do with no worries, the writing flows upon my page, the darkness that seems to be growing. The next day the teacher pulls me aside “This poem is amazing, but you’re going to see a councillor and to this rule you must abide!” I look at him in bewilderment “Like Hell I’m Going” I reply. He places his hand on my shoulder “You’re Hurting inside Jess, and I know this is not a lie” I now see the school councillor every single week She listens to whatever I say and cries with me when I weep. Even though my mum is still sick, I’m almost back to normal at the present I help my dad out by doing all the housework. I help my brother with his homework even though most of the time he tells me to get bent. I don’t know where I belong in this world, and only time will tell Should I go to heaven or perhaps to hell? Life is my mystery and I haven’t figured out how to continue on its journey If things get too hard I don’t think I know how too deal with them, except to let them be But I’ll do it for my mum who lives to see my smile and breathes my life And hopes that one day I’ll become one lucky man’s wife |

Poignant write. Every moment we have a choice and when we listen to our hearts, we know where we belong. I think you are doing great right where you are now. Love, Margherita |

I ditto dixie on this one, heaven or hell is not attained by good deeds, but there is one in this world who will try to make you believe that...and there is One above who listens and helps... very honest write and if you need an ear...email me...have been through a lot myself and am a pretty good listener ![]() [This message has been edited by luminosity (10-29-2006 11:35 PM).] |
