Time speaks to me... …It speaks of youth blending into indefinable mist, with age slipping quietly into the creases and folds of a well-lived life. …It whispers of sweet, springtime loves lost, and irreplaceable moments of joy--and sorrow --as I am the sum of both. …It gently reveals to me that much sorrow in this journey can be succinctly defined as risks not taken by me when I was a seemingly impetuous youth. …It bares to my soul that joy may be proved every day, with but a single thought to a happiest moment in time, such as when my loved ones gathered to celebrate the accumulation of their love. Love speaks to me... …It speaks of sublime moments when all of the world seems to stop with me to listen to a love song or admire a morning-fresh flower. …It whispers to me of the moment, as I am lost in time once again to one of the softest, sweetest muses --the contemplation of love's many emotion-caressing fingers. …It gently reveals to me that love and loss must share a common space in my heart, as they are often intertwined. yet when gently I separate them, love is often the more bittersweet. …It bares to my soul that still, even in loss, love lingers in that heart of hearts where only wistful memories reside, and I must bow to the grandness of my ability simply to love. I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |
