Brother Take a rest, brother, lean on the wind for a spell. Roll your bed out on the sand in a sheltered hollow. You deserve an easy hour for once in this misbegotten span. Stop walking through the fire and take a drop of water for that fever that burns me from your eyes. Take a rest, brother, and let me go to mine; untied, untroubled, unworthy of your pain that drags me back to breathing this used and useless air again. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Nan...A brother, by blood or humanity doesn't matter really..the words could hold true. Strong and poignantly written. |

Nan, Stunningly poignancy! I'm not that great of a poet, but for what my opinion is worth, this is masterfully expressed. I've read it several times, and the mystery calls for more. miscellaena |

Nan, This write creates paths to all kinds of images. Each a mystery leaving me guessing. Peace. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

Thanks so much, guys. As to the inspiration, lately I've had several friends pass away. A couple of them hung on to life when it was hard and nothing but pain, because family just couldn't let them go. And their family suffered as much as they did. That led me to this. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
