The Pumpkin ‘Tis the season where cold has started to frost the ground with a crystalline coating of purest diamond dust. And all of the world has gone into a state of suspended animation. An object of beauty is October, with its cool nights, crisp days, and fall’s own enticing smells. One might say that the very earth itself is preparing her winter coat for a soon-to-come blanket of pure white, woolen covers. A.............veritable triumph.............of Old Man Winter, over Mother Autumn, and............a mark of the old............animosities that have wrestled and wrangled for...........control over every.........,finer point of nature or nurture; a tiff as old as time..........But Old Man Winter…....always wins, as nature abhors a never-changing landscape, and Life must yield to the inevitability of Death. October is the last bastion of the old world,.......as everything will eventually be reborn; shining new, all things that Spring will drag.............screaming into this new/old world. Ah! But that is for the morrow, as we only have...........today. And Mother Nature nurtures her own; the finer things that are only now, as..................a magician’s helper, hiding in places that we can never see. Oh, we can guess where flowers hide, birds winter and old bears slumber, but we are not privy to the answers that are so carefully hidden under this quilt of time and cold. And for this I am grateful. I do not wish to know the secrets of Nature. I want to be as raw.........and ignorant of the facts of existence as.......children can be. This way, when all..................................is newly.....................................fresh and pure, then I will be filled.................................with joy;.....................................the joy known only by the pure of........heart--a...............................gift that,..............unlike others, has to be viewed…….through............................... the lens..........of childhood’s sparkling innocence. And this is a gift that is a wonder to behold, and a purer pleasure to experience. Now, I go to seek the ice-rimmed pond, and nice, barren patch of cold earth, on which I can rest upon to view Autumn’s delights. And then, when I smell the wafted scent of a pumpkin pie, delicately seasoned, and cooling on the sill, as if an offering to this kingdom of fading colors, then I will be fulfilled. Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky: try to take over the world! |

Thanks, aziza! I worked VERY hard on this one, and had to edit it numerous times to make it work with this font, after having created it in another font! I am glad that you enjoyed it. John Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |

Hi, TD! What a nice thing to say... I really did try my best on this one. I had to put a lot of time, thought, and "thoughts" into it! Thanks, TD. John Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight? |
