Second post of the......well, ever! This is one I also posted on poetry.com called Vanity Fair. All we live for is nothing All we breathe for is a lie Our delusions are what fuels us 'Till the day that we die Success, power, money what does it mean? A chance to ditch obscurity, to finally be seen? Success is a delusion, power a farce A reflection of where we stand and who we are When its all been said After all is done Who among us can say we're the successful ones? |

"Though true love could have been a contender Are you there? Say a prayer for the Pretender" ~ Jackson Browne Excellent poem, excellent question, Sam. Well done. |

Sounds as though you're still searching. Not power , not riches. Music, books, poetry, friends, children and true love as someone else mentioned are possibilities. Joyce |
