Remember and Forgive What Was

Don’t let the kids out until nine
Summer   summer
All a clamor
Remember?

Respect the sleep of others
Sprinkler at ready
Hot   hot
A must of buckets for splash down
Thunder at noon

Pick the tomato ripe
In the sun of flavor
Savor   savor
Each minute’s a miracle
Delight

Evening sitting sunset warm
No sheets
Naked  naked
Soak in the air of fan
As before each child grows or dies
Forgive what was

Heady nostalgia...

it is ok to remember
the whos that made what when
and then for the facts
of absence, pain, betrayal...

all under the summer sun...

remember the good...
let the evil be sprayed
in waterfall rainbows
and melt away...

" It matters not this distance now  " Excerpt, Yesterday's Love

Thankyou for this keeper dear Martie.
Oh, and I just closed the curtains to keep out the heat of this day .... knowing that somehow when Nana drew her blinds ... it was always so much cooler in my childhood summers.
hugs, Chris

This came to me in the sun of the neigborhood children's voices. Like laying on the sand at the beach, the sound drew me to the past.  Thank you for reading.

This brought back a flood of memories Martie..
Hugs to you sweet lady~

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Memories... children... and growing up, old, and dying... Always forgiving, but always remembering. The only way to live life, in my opinion, is in this very same manner. Thanks for sharing the walk of thoughts in this summer heat.

So beautiful, dear Martie!

Such memories last and they crystallize into clear beauty, when forgiveness is exercised too for things that were ...

A splendid piece.

Thank you for the stroll down memory lane .. how wonderful it was to be a child, playing in the sprinklers, chasing the ice cream truck, not a care in the world ..

I adore this poem

You brought back memories of when I was in the summer playing with the Hot Hot hose.  And the summers where I grew up.  Great write.

A mother's love....boundless.

You have a way of expressing things, that goes so far beyond merely the saying, as a cloud is so much more than a swirl of condensed vapor.

Nice write. You portray an excelent thing here. But let us not forget that what is, is. There is good in remembering the good and only pain when one recalls the bad fore there is not to be done about things that have occurred in the past.
