A rose gripped the harsh earth, solitary in it’s
place....stretching slowly to a lonely cloud
passing by, chasing the sun’s rays.

He saw this, this moment of time when a
single bloom could become so much
more,   reminding him of her red hair,
sleek lines and slender arms.

Gentle was this rose, one which carried
the bite of bristling thorns that kept at bay
those who might be harsh to her.   But he,
he was the gentle man that loved her,
that whispered softly to her and lightly
touched soft petals...never plucking
from her that which was so much of
her beauty....

And when winter’s snows came, salting
the earth...he carried her tenderly inside,
placing her in a crystal vase....one which
had held before her many flowers, though
none might ever compare to her, for from
her he learned compassion...he listened to
her songs of wisdom....he basked in the
glory of her....and forever he loved her
even after death as his rose again
clutched the rugged soils of his grave
and she whispered a lover’s song as
she shed a delicate petal as a gift of
admiration....evermore.

Your poem whispers of love, makes me sigh for the beauty and come back in wonder to read it again.   It's lovely, Magnus, lovely.  That rose blooms forever. ~Klassy

Absolutely lovely.  I just stopped by for a moment and was I ever glad I did.  I read this aloud to my little one, who is now reading and writing.  She enjoyed it as well.

so beautiful............I love roses xoxo

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.
