Ain't No Water In The Well Son There ain't no water in the well son the river has gone dry. There ain't no dew on the roses the angels didn't cry. There ain't no rain on the horizon not a cloud up in the sky. Your momma's gone to Nashville she didn't even say goodbye. She left here with the preacher in my pick-up truck. I guess that proves one thing son we still ain't lost our luck. The strings are broke on my guitar my voice has gone to hell. I guess I'll pick this old banjo son dig a little deeper in the well. . |

Excellent write Steven! Sort of like, when life hands you lemons-make lemonade. I could almost hear you singing this. Have a great day. Hugs~Nancy ~Somewhere in my heart I'm always |

LOL I love the way this balances out. That ol' "Keep on keeping on" fortitude. Times may be tough, but there just aint no way to make a banjo sound sad. ::smiles:: Well done ! |

Thank you Klassy, this is uncle Bubba's song and it's his hole too! :-) LOL Lighthousebob, he may be trying to retrieve his voice but I really don't think it's worth that much digging. Many Thanks!:-) |

With a tweak or two (minor ones)...you could certainly turn this into a song....Heck, I think it is now....enjoyed the story. |

That was an excellent song-poem. The rrythm and everything makes me think of it as a country and western song. Much enjoyed Huggs Kimberly |
