Sparrows I broke my sparrow's wings tonight, She goose-dropped to the ground. No longer does she sing my love, Her trill replaced by frown. My storm it seems has soaked her skin. She drowns within a tear. No longer does she sing my song, Or fly again I fear. I broke my sparrow's heart tonight, Her silence soaks the room. No longer does she sing my love, How could she in this gloom? My fire seems to singe her skin, The anger I release. No longer does she sing my song, Nor will she be at peace. I broke my sparrow's soul tonight, In loveless disregard. No longer does she sing my love, Her song I've torn apart. The pillow of my grating screams, She crashes from the sky. No longer does she sing my song, And no longer will she fly. © Ben Jones, April 2000 Comments and feedback always welcome! My forum --> www.creative.too-write.com |
