5458 Heartbeat of Faith 07 June 2006 Mother and child together on graduation day This higher school of education her Naomi, a heartbeat of faith Every moment, a child’s breath from the first gasp of living life An our awakening, like time in merit her breasts suckling, clinging to hope A morning child, afternoon to the wind embracing an evening to endure Another, a mother, blood in veins pure daily to ponder, victory to mature Mother and child, smiles and eyes meet all certainty unknown, forever being thus No one to take, this in gift given together in ways of faith, come graduation day “And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.” Ruth 4: 16 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
