Remembering the Lilac It was more the aroma that enticed me beyond words as the soft, lingering scent of lilac hovered in the breeze that swayed so gently that day. The brilliance of the colors were dazzling, but they were enhanced even more when I remembered how the air current would lift our hair and wisp it around while we laughed. God I remember the laughter like it was just yesterday. You were so happy then. I remember you smiling while you sorted through the array of flowers, explaining what each one was. However, it was the scent of lilac that captivated our senses. You bent over, touched it and it was as if the lilac was talking to you in a language that only the two of you knew. It was magical watching you and I remember how beautiful you looked that day. I thought the whole memory was a dream, but today I walked past lilac and the sweet aroma reminded me of you; I just smiled Mom. |

Whoa! Someone who encourages critiques. Rare indeed. But I really liked your piece; the imagery was very good. *sigh* I want someone to bring me flowers now... |

What a beautiful memory moment your heart can tap into, evertime you smell lilacs. Thanks Liz, for sharing |
