I Grew Away I grew away from you you say it's my own fault I carried my wounds gracefully until you poured on the salt I laid out like art because in my heart I might have enjoyed the pain being accustomed to it, I didn't know then how to feel alive without it figuring death should I let it go. Life was the darkness I grew up in but now past the numb, I've grown no longer attracted to the pain even if it means I'll be alone. Still, there are many to replace me to help you color your shadows gray I keep that secret behind the eyes that won't look back on yesterday I grew up with you then I grew away. |

Honest and powerful.....I find that lately I relate to every poem of yours...This is a keeper~ Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |

I agree with Kacy on her comment. Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, |

Hearts that don't seem to mend Stay broken in the end Like a wound with no healing We just succumb to the feeling Always good to read you, Dixie! Ken Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

You know by now, Dixie, I try not to read others' comments until after I post to you... Because I want my thoughts to be reflective of your poetry... and right now? All I can say is... grow on. You're in the right zone, now. |

One of the biggest problems Sweetheart and what most men fear That you either try to dominate and controll or let life appear Something, bye the way that gave these words Son is yours till he takes a wife Daughter is yours All your life Who controls, who lets go, and possession at times Seems to matter more than success Dave |

there is a sweet sorrow in this, that makes me sad to think of your pain, but puts a smile on my face knowing your pain is now surfaces, only in memories. |
