5663 Precious Worth 31 August 2006 Your eyes were beauty in hands to touch, heavenward in prayer The soul, your softness to escape from within That lamp, the light of your heart now this was where it all began A day, a moment of sunshine where sweetness and temptation meet Each strand of your hair a pattern, a thread of realism Golden strands, the goodness to request never let anyone know who you are not Because you were more than string could tie You were heaven, you were earth and you are all of this precious worth “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.” Doctrine and Covenants 18: 10-11 © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
