The frog loved his pad
as tadpoles love a swim
camouflaged in green
o'er pond depths
among floating lillies
croaked for a mate
its tongue extended
stetched for a fly
the frog met another
for tadpole sprouts
morph to land forms
to croak in duet
green hopped
on green floats
to thicket
until ponds dry
and they dig

buried for a rain
emerged for a song
the frog, its egg
under pad roofs
in pond thickets
as dry spells
tell of strange habits..
