To feel your presence, you need not be, For I see you without eyes to see, And that withered daffodil Between you and me, Is like the sea foam--dark and heavy; But your voice ripples through, And echoes with such intensity, Like a lost song Playing at my ears, Like cries dissipating far into the dusk sky, Yet never dying. And forcing tears out When I'm not crying. To feel your absence you need not be, In all those places I'll never be; This flame you've left burning in me, Grows with every second passing, And from it, I shall never be free. --to sk |
