If Heaven ... ~*Marge Tindal*~ Were I to go beyond tomorrow to the land the Lord has promised to me I cannot imagine anything grander than the life here that gathered me serene~ This life has been purely Heavenly with just a couple of days of sheer Hell So rare in their coming that within them I knowingly chose not to dwell~ Submerged in a baptismal pool of love at an age so very early I can't fathom that the gates of another land could be any more pearly~ I ascended to the throne of this life, stepping stones of knowledge marked the way Ancient stories from my ancestors surely keep me grounded to this day~ I've loved a man of earthly shoes cherished in his own dear ways Bride of his youthful making to last for many, many days~ Carrying the scepter of motherhood four children did glow with our light The sparkling jewels of my crown two granddaughters of my delight~ Your streets of gold could surely not compare to a traipse across my meadowland Flowers, trees and birds so profuse it simply couldn't be more grand~ If your Heaven is more precious than this I'd simply be very surprised for I have lived this Heaven on earth in the years of my abide~ Lord-of-my-knowing, I do not doubt that you have a lovely abode above but, you've given me this life I've cherished the here ... the now totally filled with love~ Thank you, Lord, for all that I have perhaps you will not mind should I decide to not go but merely remain behind~ For this life... this life is pure Heaven to me~ ~*~ ~Eyes of four-year-old innocence looking at me ... seeking ... finally speaking asking with childlike grace "Poet, do you think you'll like Heaven better than this place?"~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |
