What were words then told Just a poem to tell From age to an eternity growing old As wishful as thinking upon a well Just a poem to tell Then was poetry, rhythm or rhyme As wishful as thinking upon a well And composed in a precept upon each line Then was poetry, rhythm or rhyme In being gifted from the heart And composed in a precept upon each line Than two lovers kept in distant apart In being gifted from the heart From age to an eternity growing old Than two lovers kept in distant apart What were words then told then I think you just throw away the rule book and say what the hell What were words then told just a poem to tell From age to an eternity growing old as wishful as thinking upon a well Then was poetry, rhythm or rhyme or just a poetic tale to tell As wishful as thinking in ways out loud and composed in a precept upon each line Then was poetry in truth being gifted from the heart When patterns were placed in sand in two lovers being kept in distant apart From age to an eternity growing old unable to embrace and touch another's soul For words were words, for reason, for salience then love was for love, in ways poetic to seek a poet who cares |
