4160 Ode to a Canadian Heart 11 August 2005 Ode to a Canadian heart were blue skies do shine This in verse of a poet captured like a photograph to time Away in a manger and no crib for a bed Those words painted to visa when all done in colour read This smile in rock-wood to paper maid an Eden to gather in flowers to rose An Ontarian paradise to Toronto await far from London in essence flows With summer basket of gift to fruit from Lake Erie to Georgian Bay Why it was she in spirit was this muse was as to drying grass - pasture to hay "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2: 7, 10, 14 KJV a poet who cares [This message has been edited by poettothecars (05-28-2006 02:56 AM).] |

Check out that Canadian flag! ....A unique twist on being Canadian in relation to the holy birth... Thank you Melissa~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world! |

The irony is Eden is a place in Ontario, Canada - and what is missing from the poem is the name of the place in Canada, the poem is describing. Because I have trouble pronouncing the word. In truth the poem relates to Guelph, Ontario, Canada found near by places like Rockwood and Eden a poet who cares |
