The crickets are driving me crazy They are making their noises so loud The wooly worms are wearing their woolens And showing them off to the crowd The snow geese are gathering snowflakes Preparing to cover the ground all in white The robins are eating chokecherry berries They are weaving a bit drunkenly in flight The squirrels are running and hiding All the cones and nuts that they find And I am stacking my firewood high Winter’s taking up space in my mind. The moose are moving about slowly Their eyes out for hunters with guns The voles are darting about quickly They grab some more dog food and run. The cranes have landed in the field out of town They are resting before they leave ‘til the spring The geese have joined them and are waiting Soon they’ll form in a V and off again they will wing. Winter is coming the trees seem to say As their leaves float on their way to the ground There’s a nip in the air in the mornings The rivers flow more slowly towards the Sound If you happen to live in a climate of cold Summer is beginning to relax and to wane It’s going to be white soon and frosty with ice The beauty of each season is never the same. aziza |

The leaves are starting to fall here in Ohio. The Crickets are singing their song. The mornings have a slight chill and mist covers my car. Yes winter is on the way. Pretty picture you have painted with your words. Hugs BonBon  |
