5627 Empty Eyes, Silent Cries 20 August 2006 Empty eyes, silent cries for what was love a word upon a stage A desire, or destination feeling entrapped inside Then where was the road that path to happiness While the world does sleep and steps replaced stones Unable to touch, words in voice to seek an outcome, but when or where Those blessing of two, without silence and emptiness to share Did happiness exist, against those eyes unable to see, a blindness blindfolded The mask wrapped tight, a heart struck cold the destination of loneliness or was this sadness in victim told “I have a simple philosophy. Fill what’s empty. Empty what's full. And scratch where it itches.” Alice Roosevelt Longworth US author (1884 - 1980) © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
