It’s hard to draw a line
between the knowing and a wish
when energy confined doubles up inside
and flies like a butterfly newly granted sight
around and across its designated zone.

Oh, flutter, flutter, flutter; it’s the flutter in a brain
that portends a happening or the need for one
and I sit a lady staring at the heavy, heavy, air
trying and trying to get at the truth
with the arm of reason.

Too short it is; it always is, and too staid to fly
and the flutter, the flutter, remains a remnant, see
of what supposedly was only wishful thought
tossing this way/that in the guise of a dream.

And how like the “everyday” most every day
to make a mockery of a dream’s reasoning
unhindered and unlimited by this reality
and free to fly like butterflies
in the confines of a mind.

But fly, fly, butterfly, look through my eyes,
and together forever we’ll contemplate the sky
and prepare on the side to cross the border-line
into the knowing of a lover’s love!

Helen~

I felt the softest flutter of your thoughts in this piece~

I adore this -

'Too short it is; it always is, and too staid to fly
and the flutter, the flutter, remains a remnant, see
of what supposedly was only wishful thought
tossing this way/that in the guise of a dream.'

Dream on !

Helen,

Oh, yes, fly, fly Love's butterfly for dreams may still come true and may they be and live set free on wings entwined in you.

I think what you have penned is so very very true for we can never lose faith in our dreams and I do think that it's especially true when our dreams are as your poem brings to light—So very filled and desiring of Love.

God bless.

The vision of a butterfly flitting to and
fro is quite similar to what you have given
us...the mind becoming very much alike it.
