Remember Cinderella?  She started out anew
clothed and shoed exactly for what she had to do
but then returned again to a state of little worth
decreed and dictated by her lowly birth.

She left a clue behind as we all have done sometime
and pity the beleaguered possessed of a closed mind
too ill equipped or unable to look beyond the known
and come up with the treasure of love’s energetic flow.

And too we all have run from the good and true
like looking in the dirt and not up in the blue
and this perceived human state no fairy tale
but a very real cause of destruction and decay.

Now, Sleeping Beauty – there’s a thing
she slept and dreamt of everything
and therein lies a lesson, a sign, and symbol, yes
that love doesn’t care if we choose not to dress.

But forward now into the times of this reality
and I find my discomfort in the break-up of dreams
and in the weave of fibers of whatsoever kind
that sidetracks my so well-intentioned mind.

This is my story but how cold the ego blows
to suppress and conceal love’s energetic flow!

Thanks, Maureen.  I'm not sure if we live and learn or learn and live - perhaps a bit of both is required to satisfy duality.

Helen

"love doesn’t care if we choose not to dress."

The whole poem, but especially that line!

Love really cannot be suppressed
Gr8 write!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Thanks Martie and Interloper for the read.  Perhaps there are some forms of love that should be suppressed for the good of us all like love for a particular idea that creates war.  But, yes, love for one another cannot and should not be suppressed.
