A Quiet Dusk

I remember
early morning storms,
thunder rumbles and growls,
young love cataclysms;

smoldering afternoons:
airless panting heat,
middle-aged resignation.

Let us,
you and I,
meet in the cool of evening,
in the peace
of honeysuckle porches.

Let us savor
a quiet dusk.

and let me keep this to savor this time again, Nan!  It is breath taking in honesty and simplicity, and your creative word choice is marvelous!

You Texans shore can write
I love it!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Lovely poem...

Dusk
It comes so suddenly
right after mauve
someone dumps charcoal into it
and stirs until just a small sun slips
cool
into night
