5614 Children of Time 15 August 2006 The poet saw kindred spirits in her eyes, his heart and her heart united at last. A long time, many years to days, but was this love. The kind of love built to last A love nest full of life, to grow together as children of time. A happening in happiness, to bring out the good, and escape the sad. If only truth was a gathering, a new world to another morning due. A foreign encounter, yet delivered in full, all of hope, all of glory under the sky, a testament and testimony to liberty. Of a statute, signed upon the dotted line, where eyes and grace take hands in unity. That ring of friendship, an eternal being, at last and final, yet uncertain to embrace. “The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.” Genesis 24: 7 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
