The sun and I watch in awe

as each minute changes the leaf

and the dragon fly turns wild above the water

Meanwhile the peachicks hop the curb

proving that fluff can fly

so sit with me on the grass

and we'll wait to shoot the moon

Sweet....what a moment you capture here. Is it that you live in paradise, or do you bring it along wherever you go?

I'll adapt your theme, a bit, Ed...

she brings paradise wherever she glows!

I love the imagery in this, the peachicks and dragonflys you capture in time so beautifully.

There is a little story behind those peachicks that I want to share.  When my husband found out he had cancer and started treatment, a male peacock, Mr Blue, showed up in the neighborhood.  He was young and so beautiful. He would eat out of my hand.  He came every day to enjoy cat food.  He became like a symbol of all things good about life.

So...as he got older we knew that he would be wanting to find a mate.  We didn't want him to leave so we talked to the pet store owner who talked to a breeder and they both gave us the female peahen.  She was only about 6 mo old and when we let her out of make shift home in greenhouse she (Oreo) and Mr Blue had what I'd consider a love/hate relationship.  It was with many grins that I saw her the first time with those chicks....a symbol, don't you see...of life's continuance!

Thanks for your replies!

Knowing Mr. Blue as I do...it was all "fluff and stuff" in the beginning.

And it's not everyone who can call the animals [man/beast/fowl] to come eat out of one's hands...

Whenever Martie writes she has me eating out of her hand...

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

What fantastic moments! To have him eating out of hand, providing him with a mate, and then seeing those little ones marching around.
Thank you so much Martie, for sharing the poem and photo, the story behind them.
