how about you edge that chair a little closer?
we're looking out the same window
through a night so thick with fog
we all see only black.

its outlined in gold on
every other tuesday of the month
but our eyes arent calenders
theyre just broken shards of glass
that sparkle just the same, but
reflect at angels too hard to measure
during structured slots.

today today to yesterday
we'll talk about
last month last season
last drink of the night
to remind us of the air
we lost back then
on grass that wet us to shivvering bones
and a heat that left
through those windows we always left open.

we're gonna spend the rest of our dreams
thinking about a series of hours
that might have formed our entire lives.

This poem is incredible.  It's even more amazing when I read it out loud.  So good.  Thank you.
