5608 Rhythm Next to Mine 13 August 2006 Just to feel her heart beating in rhythm next to mine Just to feel her soul and know it was near Would God grant so promises or was a wish a hope in contrast As if age had no limits if that age was combined How many years in giving one hundred and ten percent That gratitude of love in its fullness to live, to die, to shed a tear Her eyes, her heart, her soul if God gave love One can only pray He can also make two hearts, in unity, whole “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5: 5 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
