An Epiphany in Shades of Grey

An epiphany in shades of grey
came about in the dead of the night
probing my mind with thoughts so deep
in a pool of chaos and simple deceit
surronded by blimps of soft, tender light
in a rainstorm so dense yet so dark

Flooding my head like the dam cracked open
so clear and concise in my frame of mind
sifting through memories of times gone by
wasted years that I daydreamed away with a sigh
instead of taking action and speaking my mind
being what they thought that I should be

Influenced by a society so stuck in it's ways
pressuring it's people to follow the crowd
instead of being the individual that they are inside
a unique combination of mind, body, and soul
not a blank canvas or slave to the masses
instead a voice for the unspoken majority

The people disenchanted of the spell cast on them
clearing the smog filled lies spewed in haste
revealed a blue sky litered with clouds
fluffy yet shrouded with callusion of beliefs
where facts meet fiction in a haze of disbelief
and the black and white meet in shades of grey
