The voice of God can be heard above
the thunders of the sky
(Even when it whispers)

The written Word of God can be heard above
the quaking of the earth and the thunders of the sky
(Even though it is silent)

Sometimes the loudest words are silent

The human ear cannot block out the sound of Truth
For Truth can penetrate a wall of stone surrounding the human conscience
It can sail over mountains and fill infinite spaces inside the heart
Truth can illuminate a pathway
and a horizon
and the whole dark side of the earth
and all the corners where a man chooses to hide

The sound of truth can shatter the eardrum, of an ear unwilling to hear,
And can rip the chamber walls of a heart unwilling to feel its resonance

But even then many would listen,
and still not hear
Until that same ear is tormented by abuse
And that same heart is left to weep
In the deepest holes of destitution

Then would the whisper of God seem like
sweet harmonic chords of a harp
but louder than a clap of thunder

And then would the silent written words of God
be louder than the quaking of the earth
But like musical lyrics of poetry
that feed the spirit of man
with serenity

Oh Liz, this is beautiful, if only you knew how much I needed to read this - it came at a perfect time, I believe that God works His wonders through human angels like yourself.....It's a keeper
