I Am Just A Memory Now

I'm just a memory now,
a home movie of laughter and tears,
gray, blurry visions of past rainbows,
forgotten love-moments over the years.

I'm just a memory now,
a smoke ring in a silent room
and you just opened the window
so you could breathe, I presume.

I'm just a memory now,
you live on with me, only
in the back of your mind
while I live on lonely.

I'm just a memory now,
you can't touch one of those
and soon enough I'll fade away,
I'll be the only one who knows
how much I still love you

but that's the way a memory goes.

Some memories never fade...but when only one remembers what two should treasure...it's such a tragedy.

I'm glad I read this poem, in some ways, but in one very poignant way, I wish I hadn't. I also wish it weren't this way for you, because....well, just because.

Oh, lordie... you just wrote me, lady...

You write this pain so well... I hurt for both of us.

Keith, thank you...good to see you

Lee, I've been busy getting ready to leave for Kansas City. I'm moving there. Today. Like right now. I'll be back online when I find a home.
