The Girl Inside.

To Titia’s mother on her 95th birthday

The eyes never age, nor the girl inside
Who’s lived a century  for a love of life;
When  a woman reclines from the storm and strife,
The antiquity of grace and decency defines
The woman.  There she sits like a tree of stillness
Not idle but in judgement mute, in quiet kindness.

I salute you, who is young and heart-filled to me;
I wish you well and the sound of the sky wind
Will whisper your favourite names, and remind
Of those distant memories , (only the old can tell)
When things were different, when men danced with you.

I'm glad you liked it..

Well sayonara girls and boys, I'm off to pastures new. I had a very good time and I'd like to thank everyone in Pip for their poems which I have enjoyed.  May you all prosper as poets and do your things in happiness and liberty.
